The Quest Begins! Introduction

INTRODUCTION: Well here I am starting my first blog. I'm doing this because I've been reading I can make money eventually by doing just this. I'm out to prove if it's true or false. I've been scouring the internet about this subject and have found many snake oil salesmen promising an endless supply of money just flowing in while I smoke Cuban cigars on the beach! I'm very skeptical but hey I'm willing to find out the truth once and for all and expose it here. If it works you'll be the first to know. If you follow this blog you will also know how to do it as I explain the methods I used, where I found the FREE on line information and then hopefully you could follow suit.

BACKGROUND: Ok first you need to know a little about me and why I'd take on this quest.
I hope I have enough background education to prevail one way or another but that is yet to be found out. So here is what I know about the internet and where I found and learned what little I do know.
I bought a copy of a book way back in 1998 or there abouts called HTML 4 for dummies. I read this book and played around making suedo websites and learning. I did this because I have a small manufacturing business (not doing well these days) called C-T Wire Prep Inc. You can find the website I built with just this book at www.ctwireprep.com . I learned how to get it to page one on the search engines by reading and experimenting. Go ahead and type in wire harness manufacturing in a web search engine and see where I land. Usually I'm on the first page. This actually costs me absolutely nothing to do this. Many people pay big bucks to be there.
Ok so after building the ct website my son introduced me to dreamweaver software. I took a course on it at the local college here in Kitchener and discovered that I built a website the hard way but learned alot. I would still recommend getting that HTML book and doing what I did.
The experience is invaluable in knowing HTML. I really want to know how a dynamic website is built so I can make one for myself. In that effort I bought a CS3 suite software package with dreamweaver and enrolled in the local college part time course for 10 weeks.
Now I know how to basically use dreamweaver which automates HTML. This is analogous to learning how to add subtract multiply and divide using a pen and paper and then discovering a calculator. So now you know where I am with being able to make a basic static website.
I have also built a website using another method that works fairly decently but costs a little more.
This company called HOMESTEAD will allow you to buy a domain and host it. They also provide the fairly user friendly software to put the website all together. Took me about 2 days of reading and experimenting to learn. Check that website out at www.k2000k2.com. This website is real and is being used by Joe.

THE QUEST FIRST EXPERIMENT
I've read about a method of making money on the internet called adsense by google. Go check it out sometime. I signed up for it. (had to wait a day for approval) I read through the terms of use and started copying and pasting the HTML code into the spots I opened up on the webpage.
Joe has given permission to experiment with the site by putting on the adsense advertising, as well as the google search bar. If any of those two are clicked on Joe will get some amount of money called pay per click. According to the terms of use when I signed up for adsense he will get a cheque in the mail when the amount reaches 100 dollars. How much the pay per click is I have no idea and can't find any real answer to that.
What I need to do now is drive people to the website. The more people landing there the more chance they will click on an add and bingo Joe gets a nickel...or something? Just a guess.

THE QUEST SECOND EXPERIMENT
Ok now that I have the first experiment set up I have been reading about another method to make money. I'm going to tie the second experiment in with the first but this is certainly another method totally different from the first.
The article I have been reading says I can make money blogging, so here I am blogging.
Hopefully I'm blogging about a subject that many will follow. I honestly have no idea if anyone already has done this sort of quest and blogged about it or not. I'm guessing there may be someone at least trying to sell ideas on how to make money by blogging like snake oil salesmen I've noticed all over the internet. Don't worry I'm not selling anything here or anywhere so close up your wallets!
I'm going to hook up with the adsense on here and have it as a pay per click also.
So now to do that I have to figure it all out. Another thing I'm suppose to do is figure out how to promote this blog so hopefully the more people read it the more chance they will click on the ads.
