Skill set to make money online

As promised I am going to try and define the skill set necessary to be able to make money online. Don't get fooled by people that it is possible to make easy money online. You need to have a skill set already in place or develop it. So let's look closer at what's necessary.
First of course you need to have a decent command of the English language or at least another high traffic language where the Internet is supported.
I think the next skill set you need to have is what I call computer basics. By this I mean be able to save files intelligently on your computer so you can stay organized. A lot of people create a folder/file mess on their computer and lose or misplace a lot of information. This just compounds issues of learning new things necessary to build the infrastructure to make money online.
The next skill or perhaps it could be called desire or trait is the wanting to make money online and willing to spend many hours learning. You must be willing to sacrifice time from watching TV and socializing or other activities. Making money online should be treated like a business, because that's exactly what it is. Unfortunately many have entered the field with wild dreams of getting rich quick because they have been sucked in by unscrupulous people who lure you in promising all sorts of nonsense. The business of making money online is like any other real business. It takes time and some money to get going. You can start off very conservative and build up slowly making money bit by bit more and more. You may not see any money for a year or more before it starts to flow. This is the reality of making money online for most people if they manage NOT TO GIVE UP BEFORE THEN!
So lets make a list of just what you will have to learn if you don't know how to do it already.
1. Computer basics
2. Good writing and reading skills
3. Learn the things necessary to put a website on the Internet (I'll break this down)
Learn the logistics of getting a website hosting account.
Learn how to register a domain and point the name server numbers to your hosting account.
Learn how to transfer files from your computer to your hosting account. (FileZilla preferred)
Learn wordpress (it's by far the easiest and it's free)
4. Learn the details of adsense and how it works and finding a topic that you can build a website around that will draw enough people in. (There are 3 specific tools I use for this).
5. Learn the details of how affiliate marketing works and how to implement it on your website(s)

Ok that is the overview I promised and it is right from memory as to what I did as I spent the better part of 4 or 5 months learning this stuff.
So now that you have the basic recipe for how to make money online I hope I've opened your eyes as to what's necessary.
Let's face it we are human and the lure of money is strong. Don't run out onto the Internet and think there is a short cut, there isn't.
So what's the upside if any to attempting this online money making stuff?
1. This business is one of the lowest overheads to start. ( You work from home)
2. If you have good writing and reading skills you can actually make the seed money necessary to start your online business by selling your researching and writing skills. There are people in this business who look for people to write approx. 400 word articles about various subjects for approx. 0.015 cents per word. So one article nets approx. 6 dollars.
3. Once you start generating money it becomes residual (meaning it keeps happening every month ) as long as you spend a couple hours per month at keeping your website fresh.
4. The amount of money you can make continues to grow as you build a portfolio of websites.
5. Once you reach a level where you have a good size portfolio it gets even easier to build more and have them reach #1 faster.
6. The more effort you put into this business the more money you make. Incomes well above 5000 per month are not uncommon. (I can prove this if you need to see proof) Once you achieve making the same amount of money online as you make at your regular everyday job you may want to focus completely on the online at home job and boost your income even more.

So where do you go from here... up to the green area at the top and go to the keyword academy and join up for a buck (30 day trial) check out the videos and the niche refinery. Also I recommend you buy the Marketing Samurai and you'll have everything you absolutely need to succeed properly in niche marketing. If your not satisfied with the keyword academy stuff I'll personally refund your buck. One other thing- just so you know this is a real blog about making money here's my phone number that rings right into my home. Because most of them are selling smoke and mirrors. They want you to buy their stuff but don't want to let you know any details about how to actually do it.

Optimizing a website for google search

Well I spent the better part of an hour optimizing my main business website just so it ranks even higher in google. I used a tool that showed me things my website was missing when I built it many years ago (10 actually). This was the first website I ever built and it's all made of html code that I learned by reading the html for dummies book. The tool I used is called the marketing samurai tool. My website actually ranks 6th in the world for the keyword "wire harness manufacturers" of which I'm one. I fixed 5 items that were wrong so it should be interesting to see how it fairs the next time google crawls through it. I'm expecting to move up a few places at least if not grab the #1 spot for the world on it. You can check it out if you want the website address is http://www.ctwireprep.com/ When you type in a google search "wire harness manufacturers" as of today I rank 6th. I don't have this website monetized and never will. This is my business and I rely on this website to pull in actual customer request for quotes. It usually pulls in one or two good quotes per month. I have no sales person on the road drumming up business so this website is very important to the marketing of C-T.
I learned how to optimize a website by going through the process of learning about making money online and finding out if you actually can. You definitely can I assure you. It doesn't happen fast, and it's basically a part time job hour wise. By that I mean I put in about 4 hours a night for the past month and a half or so. The learning curve is long enough but I find it fascinating stuff. If you ever want to truly learn how to make money online go to the keyword academy (you can see the link over on the right side at the top of the green area). It costs a buck to check it out. They have a number of very informative videos about making money online. The same principles they teach for money making can be applied to any website to make it rank in google on the number one page. In fact I will say this. If you have a business website and you want to get it on page one of google you can most likely do it. Making easy money online

Ok, I've been so busy with learning just how to improve my methods of making money online that I kind of neglected this blog for a while.
Making easy money online is almost an oxymoron, well sort of.
Let me explain what I mean by that statement. When I first started down this path of seeing if theirs truth to the tons of information that hits you when you start looking into this subject I was skeptical. I am able to make what is called static websites as I mentioned on an earlier blog so I set about making a few and monetizing them. I did indeed make a little bit of money but not much. About 7 bucks all toll. The problem when I analyzed the situation is simply this. If I could get a ton of traffic to the websites I have built then yes I would make some decent money and maybe a really good amount.
So the short answer is yes you can make easy money online BUT not a lot.
This is where I am now on the journey of finding out more.

Now lets look a head to my next effort of digging deeper into this subject.
I am now involved in a coaching place that supposedly is going to teach me all the ins and outs of the real way to make money. This is costing me some money per month to enter what is called the membership area. Sort of like rolling back the curtain on the Wizard of Oz perhaps to see if he's bare ass lying or telling the truth. Once I figure this out I will post it here.

Many Answers about making money

Well it's been a while since my last post and I've learned a lot about making money online.
I'm going to post it over time now because there is a lot of information to digest here.

If you want to know the truth stick around and you will know it.

If you're like me you've read a lot of hype about people getting rich by using the internet to make money, and now curiosity stirs as I want in on the gold rush!

So I set out on this trek to learn what I can and see if there is any truth to it.

The short answer is Yes you can make money, but it's not that easy and you may not make a lot or you could make a lot depending on how you do it.

OK so obviously I want to make a lot. Well there's a lot of missing pieces of the puzzle for anyone like me who's on the same trek. I think I've found most of them now.

#1 piece of the puzzle - you must be able to make a website yourself and up load it to a web host. (more on web host at a later post)

How? Well there are many ways to do this but the best way is to learn how to use a solid piece of software that will let you do this. I have purchased dreamweaver CS3 suite but CS4 is now available ... I used it to make my latest website http://www.centralparty.ca/ which is a political website sort of a sideline effort of mine and a few other Canadians out there. Dreamweaver CS4 is expensive and I will tell you there are other pieces of software out there. Some even are supplied by the webhost for free. Sitebuilder is one that is supplied by some hosts. I haven't used it yet but I've heard it is OK.
